The Schuss idea came to me when snowed-in and chalet bound on a French
skiing holiday. We had played all the ‘normal’ board games,
gone boggle-eyed with the 3 watchable films and needed a fresh bit
of fun.
So, my friends and I decided to test how much each of us really knew
about all things snow sports. Resorts, technique, racing, history,
trivia and equipment - we were amazed at how much we knew/didn’t
know!. To spice it up, we made a rule that if you got a question wrong;
you had to perform a dare. And so the night rolled on, chalet staff
joined in, much wine was drunk and many laughs were had.
On returning home, it struck me that there might be a board game I could
create which captured the spirit of that night. So I started thinking
about a winter sports trivia game, here are my early notes on how I thought
it could develop:
After 18 months of trial and error, the result is Schuss: born in a
chalet in 2001 –
the ‘ski holiday in a box’ is available
